Wedgwood Calendar Tile, for the year 1913. Made for Jones McDuffee & Stratton Co. Boston, Mass. Wedgwood made advertising calendar tiles for this merchant between the 1880’s & 1930’s with various Boston scenes. As noted at the bottom of the calendar; Jones, McDuffee & Stratton Co were merchants of “Crockery, China, & Glass” at “33 Franklin Street, Boston U.S.A.” These were given to past customers as gifts and were available at their business. The 1913 tile shows “Pier 46 Mystic Wharves B.& M. R.R.Terminal, Boston”, and identifies the three ships lying at the pier. HAMBURG AMERICAN Line; S.S. “DEN OF CROMBIE”, AMERICAN ORIENT Line; S.S. “JESSERIC”, and HOLLAND-AMERICA Line; S.S. “AMSTELDYK”. There is an old corner chip to the left bottom corner, 5/32”, of the calendar side. Tile size: 3 3/8” wide x 4 1/4” tall glazed ceramic tile. Price: $175.00 (ref TR A2410)
