WW1 37 m.m. Shell with Projectile converted to a Coin Bank

$75.00

WW1 37 m.m. Shell with Projectile. A French Shell, with a U.S. Projectile having a fuse tip, This brass tip threads into the hollow projectile body. The projectile has a coin slot cut into it to make it a Coin Bank. The projectile has two copper rings towards it’s base. These would engage the rifling in the cannon barrel when fired, and spin the projectile towards it’s objective. About 6 ½” tall. The head stamp of the shell reads; “37-85 PDPs 244 .9 .16 (French ordnance bomb) logo. The projectile is firmly on the shell. I have made no attempts to remove it. This is a nice example of the famous 37mm cannon round. It was widely used in WW1. Price: $75.00 (ref. C-184a)
