British WW2 Fighting Knife by Southern & Richardson

$325.00

British WW2 Invasion Fighting Knife. Made by “Southern & Richardson, Sheffield, England”, and is so marked together with their logo on the blade. The double-edged spear point blade has bright finish and is 6 13/16” long. A nicely finished stacked leather washer handle has red, black and brass spacers at each end, and a rounded mushroom brass pommel with a blind threaded brass nut securing it to the threaded tang. These private purchase knives were marketed to eager U.S. GI’s who were staged in England during the D-Day Invasion build up, anticipating the fight to come. The example comes with it’s original rather flimsy leather sheath, which is typical since heavy leather hides went to the military war effort, and were not available for commerial use. In un-used near mint condition. Price: $325 (ref. TB A-215)
