US ARMY M-16-A1 Comic Book Manual- in original 1969 issue sleeve

$35.00

U.S. Army Vietnam “The M16A1 Rifle” This Operations and Preventitive Maintenance Manual “DA PAM 750-30” was published June 28, 1968. The first model M-16 had operational problems when it was issued to US troops in Vietnam, primarily due to the harsh conditions, and the mis-guided feeling that the rifle could go without cleaning, this lead to many casulaties, and the development of the M-16-A1. This 5” x 7 3/16”, 30 page booklet in comic book format was issued to troops to explain the new mantra of cleaning and lubing the M-16-A1. It covers field-stripping, what to do in a jam, cues from guys who know, tools, magazines, and pointers. A good looking comic babe walks the G.I. through it all. This booklet comes in it’s original plastic issue sleeve to keep the book fresh in the hot, moist Vietnam climate. The sleeve is marked and dated 12-69 at it’s edge, and the paper i.d. tag is present in the bag. I believe this booklet is scarce, it was likely thrown away after in-country service was completed. Price: $35.00 (ref. B-475)
