M-3 Camillus blade marked, U.S. WW2 Fighting Knife

$625.00

U.S. WW2 M-3 Camillus Blade Marked Fighting Knife black park. The 8 groove handle  has sharp groove edges and a nice darkened finish. The pommel is head with two pins from it’s sides. The butt has a strongly struck Ordnance Bomb. The black parkerized finish has rub marks on the blade flat of both sides. Starting about 4” from the guard, the blade edge has small deformations due to strikes from something hard, perhaps another blade edge, or abuse. It appears the blade has not been sharpened since these nicks happened. The False Edge has nearly all of it’s factory original “line of white” with some darkened spots toward the tip. This knife has a full tip.  There is approximately 97% of the original hard black parkerized finish on this blade marked M-3. This first variation M-8 Scabbard has green web belt material and lots of the original matt finish. There is a 3” flat and edge rub to the green finish on the front of the body, exposing the fiberglass body. The total production of the nine manufacturers of M-3 Fighting Knives in WW2 was 2,590,247 knives. Camillus Cutlery Company of Camillus, New York was the third largest producer with 404,109 knives produced. Price: $625.00 (ref. A6-3)
