U.S. Signal Corps Knife and Plier Set, TE-33 w/ Demo Pliers

$130.00

U.S. WW2, and later, Signal Corps Knife and Plier Set w/ scarce Demo Pliers. Tool Equipment, TE-33, consists of Pouch, CS-34, Pliers, TL-13A and Tool for Lineman, TL-29 Knife. These sets came into use in WW2 and remained in service through the Vietnam War. The Pouch CS-34 is an excellent earlier example. The leather is supple and nice russet colored. The outside of the double snap flap is impressed “POUCH CS-34, SIGNAL CORPS U.S. ARMY” in two lines. The interior of the flap is maker marked; “GRAFTON & KNIGHT CO, WORCHESTER, MASS” in two lines. The first word is a weak stamping and is in-destinct. The TL-29 is a post WW2 (or very late was) black plastic handled example made by Camillius, and is marked “CAMILLIUS, NEW YORK” on the large blade ricosso. The locking blade has a screwdriver tip and scarp flat edge blade. This TL-29 has some light staining on the exposed blade edges. It is an example in very good condition. This example appears as 1950’s knife. The typical Pliers, TL-13A, have been swapped with a set of Demolition Pliers. These had the head of a pair of TL-13a’s; with a flat faced w/ round face plier and cutting blades. Demo pliers have handles ends shaped as a screw driver head on one handle, and a spike point (for cleaning T-4 block detinator holes & etc). These are marked “—KE CUTCO” and “———Y” on the plier pivot. The word GERMANY appears to have been almost wholly ground off. These are most certainly post WW2 use and manufacture. The Pouch, CS-34 came in two variations. The Type one pouch was all leather, the Type Two was cotton duck treated fabric in a similar two snap pouch. These TOOL EQUIPMENT TE-33’s were in service with the U.S. Signal Corps from WW2 through Vietnam. This set has examples of WW2 and post WW2 components, plus probable demolition use. Price: $130.00 (ref C-248)
