U.S.M.C. Identification Tag "DOG TAG" and 3 place 1920's Ribbon Bar- Second Nicaraguan Campaign

U.S.M.C. Identification Tag; “Dog Tag”. It is a 1 9/32” aluminum round disc with “E RICKERSON APR-11-1928” on one side, “USMC” on the other. As noted in Marine Corps Order Number 32 of 6 October 1916 regarding identification tags for enlisted men; -full name and date of enlistment in the Marine Corps”. This tag came with a 1920’s-30’s period Service RIBBON Bar, with 2nd Nicaraguan Campaign Medal, Expeditionary Force Medal, and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal RIBBONS. These early ribbon bars were wider than WW2 period at ½” wide verses the later WW2 (and later) ribbon bars being approximately 3/8” wide. This example being 4 1/8” long x ½” wide.
