U.S.M.C. WW2 Raider Stilletto SCABBARD. -Scabbard only-
U.S.M.C. WW2 Raider Stilletto Type 1 SCABBARD. -Scabbard Only- Less than 15,000 Marine Raider Stillettos were made by Camillius Cutlery Company in World War Two. They had a pot-metal/Zinc handle and a fine pointed blade. This is a scabbard for that knife. It is a Type 1 Variation with metal staples at the throat, and metal plates, front and back, at the knife tip. This scabbard is 13 ½” long with a metal “belt devise” at the top. Clearly a knife resided in it for years, the impression of the blade ridged side is visible, as is the guards wear points at the throat. The leather snap-strap has a gloss black snap cover. The rear of the snap has been covered with a light felt. I would think the felt was a later addition. The rivet, which holds this strap to the scabbard neck, looks original. It appears this is the original strap to secure the knife in the scabbard. The leather has lots of russet color on the upper portion. The body is darker in spots, at the rivets and throat. The leather is supple. This scabbard is in very good plus condition. It is rare to find a USMC Raider Stilletto SCABBARD on it’s own. If you have a knife by itself, here’s your chance. Price: $425.00 (ref. C-266)
