U.S. WW2 Army Air Corps 1944 Cloth Chart No. C-41, Mindoro Island and Chart No. C-42, Samar Island in the Philippine Series. 19” wide x 26 1/2” tall. This chart is two sided with No. C-41 on one side, and No. C-42, on the reverse. These two charts are part of five charts, total, which show the Philippines in total. These cloth maps often were stored folded, and this example has creases from long storage. These could be conserved for a more permanent display of a full map in a frame or shrink wrapped to poster board. The cloth is solid, with no tears, or frayed edges. There are several light, soiled spots, along the center horizontal fold on the Mindoro side, consistent with age and storage. I would rate this cloth chart in very good condition. Both sides note in the upper right in red; “RESTRICTED”. These are accurate maps, with elevation, towns, and roads in great detail. These charts are scarce and collected.
