1960 REVOLT Lighter- Ramstein Air Base D.I. and Engraving
REVOLT Cigarette Lighter. Made in Austria in the late 1950’s-early 60’s. It is a Zippo wannabe design. It has very good fit and finish. The case has the Distinctive Insignia of Ramstein Air Base on one side. The 86th Operations Group’s Wing motto is; “VIRTUS PERDURAT” or enduring courage. The engraving; “1960, HEADQUARTERS, 86th FTR INTCP WG, RANSTEIN AIR BASE” on the other side. The initials “REO” are on the lid above that engraving. Interestingly the wind guard folds open around the striker wheel for pipes or cigars. The lighter wind guard is marked “REVOLT” on one side and “U.S. PAT. PEND”. This is a lighter with U.S. Military engraving from an interesting period when the West was fighting the Cold War with Russia. Shipped dry and with a flint, but this lighter burns well when filled with fluid. Price: $45.00
