$110.00

a pack of CHESTERFIELD Cigarettes, 1950-53 Korean War “for Military Forces use, tax exempt”. This soft pack is 2 3/4” tall x 2 1/8” wide x 7/8” deep. The yellow seal label notes; “Manufactured by Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. U.S.A. Free of Tax- For use only of U.S. Military or Naval forces, and other authorized personnel, outside the jurisdiction of the internal revenue laws of the United States. This product is admitted free of duty”. This is a scarce “For Military or Naval forces” pack of Korean War Chesterfields in near mint condition. There are several brownish stains on one face side as shown in the photos, which seems likely to be part of the stain on the reverse of the paper/foil Package. Those produced in these years actually had the package “front” graphics on both the front and back of the pack. It came to me in a brown paper laminated to foil Survival Pouch. This pouch is marked at it’s uppermost edge; “TEAR HERE” with a dashed point, “FOLD OVER FOR RE USE” slightly down and “CIGARETTE PACKET” at the packet’s shoulders. These paper/foil laminated Survival Pouches show up with .45 Cal Shot AMMO as well as in later Vietnam vintage Survival Ammo for the M6 Survival Gun which was Winchester .22 Hornet Ammo to hunt small game. The reverse of the paper packet has some long dried up stains. Doesn’t feel oily, and is dry. This is the first and only I have had with the Paper/Foil Laminated CIGARETTE PACKET. The packet was torn open and a bit of the back panel is missing. The seam along the right side of the packet has opened. This packet is nearly all present. Korean War period cigarette packages in these Issued Survival Packets are rarely encountered. Price: $110.00 (ref. C-120)
