British WW1 era Officers Club Cigarette Box, 4th Regiment, Prince of Wales
British WW1 era Officers Club Cigarette Box, 4th Regiment, Prince of Wales. Brass sheet stock with silver-washed interior, 4” x 2 7/8” x 1” tall. The box has a shoe box style, loose-fitting lid. The inscription appears to be roll embossed. “British Officers Club” in script is at the top. A coat of arms is central, with “1902” at it’s base. “4th Regiment” and “Prince of Wales” are in two lines at the bottom. The interior, including the inside of the lid, is silver washed. It is a nicely made box, with tight seams. The brass is bright with minor tarnish and the silver wash has a few spots of tarnish or wear. This cigarette box presents well. Several were probably scattered around the Officer’s Club for their members to grab a smoke. Price: $95.00 (ref. B-940)
