$50.00

CYGNUS Petrol Cigarette Lighter having a "STANDARD VACUUM" Pegasus enamel logo inlet into the front panel of the lighter. The back end of the lighter is engraved “VACUUM DIAMOND JUBILEE 1955”. The fill cap on the base has a brass capped area within, to store a replacement flint. The only markings on the lighter are on the outside of the gasketed fuel fill cap. “Cgynus” and “Pat —————9” which is illegible, due to being lightly struck. These lighters were made in Japan in the 1950’s. Standard Vacuum Oil Company was a joint venture between Standard Oil of New Jersey, and Socony-Vacuum (aka Mobil). Standard Vacuum was started in 1931 to make and market petroleum products in the FAR EAST. In 1999, these two partners merged together to become Exxon-Mobil. This Cygnus lighter is finely made and has the famous Pegasus, flying horse enamel logo nicely recessed into it’s side. It is a nice compact lighter with only light use wear, in very good plus condition.. Price: $50.00 (ref. B-975)
