DUNHILL "Unique" Lighter. Circa 1920’s. Silver plate on brass lighter. It is marked “Made in Switzerland” as well as “ENGL PAT No.143,752” and “U.S. PAT. No. 1022140” & “AND OTHER PATENTS PENDING” on it’s base. The British patent number is for the “Unique” basic lighter design issued in 1919 to Wise and Greenwood. The fluid fill cap is marked; “DUNHILL UNIQUE LIGHTER”, and has a cap threaded to it’s interior side to hold a spare flint. The lighter is engraved “R R B” on it’s side. The wick cap is straight and very nice. This is a beautiful design, and is beautifully made, in excellent functional conditon. This vintage DUNHILL Unique makes an understated statement.
