French WW2 period Troupe Tobacco Ration 40 Grammes. Paper package with a glued label which seals the folded ends. The two ends of the label are the same; marked with the maker’s logo, a red rooster on a branch in a circle with “SEITA” at the top, with “TROUPE” to the left, and “REGIE FRANCAISE DES TABACS across the bottom. The top is marked “SCAFERLATI CAPORAL”. The top of this part of the label has a 1/2” fold at it’s edge, and the bottom has a small 1/8” edge tear. The bottom is marked with the weight; “40 GRAMMES TROUPE” and lots numbers “VK8 173”. I believe this package to be from WW2, but because it is un-dated, I say WW2 period. It’s in very nice condition with the noted details. This is a scarce piece of a French Soldier’s kit. Price: $75.00 (ref B-959h)
