Miller High Life BEER Can Cigarette Lighter. pre- 1962 steel can w/ no Zip Tab

$35.00

Miller High Life BEER Can Cigarette Lighter. The pull tab or “Zip Top” was introduced in 1962, and this can is from before that date. It would have been opened with a beer can opener. The beer cans at that time were made of heavy gauge sheet steel with an inner special coating to avoid a metallic taste. This Miller High Life Beer Can Lighter appears to have been professionally produced. The top of the can was neatly cut, weighting beans added and a cup was inserted to seal the can and to accept the lighter. The weighting beans rattle when the can is moved about. I would rate the can’s condition as good plus. There is some minor rusting along the bottom and up the vertical seam. There is some minor spot rust on the lid around the lighter cup. There is a tiny prick dent on one side above the “ll”s in Miller towards the can’s top. The graphics are strong with some small scratches and age marks. I think the pictures describe the can’s overall condition. The lighter appears to have never been used, the wick has not been burned. It strikes and functions as it should. It will ship dry, with no fluid in it, just like I got it. The side of the striker mechanics is marked; “JAPAN”, with no other markings, as is typical of many other articles made in Japan in the 1950s and 1960s. Vintage! Price: $35.00 (ref B-824)
