ZIPPO “Tach-a-Loop” Loss-proof Lighter, 2nd variation. This lighter was made in 1957, when ZIPPO started to use the newer date code and script logo on their lighters. The second variation of the Loss-proof Lighter has a large triangular shaped loss-proof loop, which doubles as the hinge pin. This example has brushed finish side panels, and two color advertising for the “LAMINATED SHIM COMPANY” on both sides. It is in excellent condition with only minor handling scratches. The lighter insert is original to the case. The elastic lanyard is in very nice condition. It’s very uncommon to find a “Tach-a-Loop” lighter in nearly new condition with it’s original lanyard.
