William Britain "FULL CRY" Hunting Series Toy Figures, No. 235, tied in box. The box has suffered over the years, but the figures are all near mint and still tied onto their paper-board display panel. There are seven mounted figures. They are the Huntsman, three gentleman and three ladies. Interestingly all the ladies are using side-saddles. There are twelve hounds and the fox. The display panel is nicely ink stamped; MANUFACTURED BY W.Britain IN LONDON, ENGLAND TRADE MARK REG’D No. 459993.”. It appears the figures have always been tied onto the display panel. As can be seen on the picture of the reverse string pattern; one horse looks oddly tied compared with the others, and may have been taken out and tied back in. The string pattern otherwise looks original and all the figures are in near mint condition. I have seen these sets taken off the display and with years on the horses legs, gravity causes the legs to splay. These are all excellent, and “in-the-box”. The box is in rough condition. The lid label has losses. Most of the corner seams are split, all the shoe box top edges are split. However, the box is all here, and it could be restored! It does have it’s original end label from “F.A. O. SCHWARZ, 741 FIFTH AVENUE, NEW YORK” with the set name; “FULL CRY”. The box size is 18 1/4” long x 10” wide x 1 1/4” high. Happily, the display panel and the figures are near mint, tied-in. The riders each have an articulated arm, holding the whip, most are painted stiff and never moved. This Hunt Series “FULL CRY” set would make a great display in it’s original box, or with the display panel mounted and framed. Or, I guess you could play with them, I will let you decide!
