Heart Cut-out Kitchen Chopper. 9 3/8” tall X 5” wide at blade edge. This lovely handmade chopper has great character. The blade may be a repurposed piece of steel. There are fine horizontal marks, light & old pitting and blemishes consistent with it’s age. The blade has a 1/4” crack at one side close to the cutting edge, and has a yellowed finish on it’s surface. The heart, 1 1/2” tall x 1 1/8” wide is hand filed, and not perfectly symmetrical. All this points to a very folksy piece, probably from the 19th century. The blade is firmly attached to a 5” handle with a steel ferrule where the blade tang enters the wood. This handle is likely also repurposed. This would look great on the kitchen wall. It is very folksy, with loads of charm. Price: $95.00 (ref. B-555)
