European hand held Folding Reading Glasses. They have lost their gold platting in all but a few protected areas. The patina now has silver metal through the handle with golden colors at the eye pieces. The nose bridge is nicely engraved. The primary eye piece is attached to the handle. The second eye piece has a small notch in it’s rim. This notch catches in the fully closed position. Pushing up on the second eye piece allows the glasses to gracefully spring open. They are finely made and have screws on each eye frame to allow the glass to be changed. These are totally un-marked as to the maker or the country of origin. They are probably from the 1890’s through WW1. The eye glass in these is slightly magnifying. Price: $65.00 (ref. C-256)
